Learning Objectives

• The student will understand the importance and use of networks.
• The student will have an understanding of the different types of technologies necessary to establish a network, such as nodes, modems, routers, and switches.
• The student will be exposed to several different types of networks, such as local area networks, wide area networks and wireless local area networks.
• The student will understand the necessity for network security and several of the means of providing network security.
