On Friday, September 16, 2005, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies, assigned to the Superior Court, responded to the west entrance of the Court House to assist a Deputy who was involved in altercation.

After sitting in the Court House lobby for several minutes the suspect, a Hispanic male adult, approached a Sheriff’s Deputy from behind and attempted to take his service weapon. After a brief struggle the suspect was taken into custody.

The subject was taken to the Sheriff’s Headquarters where he remained uncooperative and refused to provide any identifying information about himself. The suspect has been arrested on one felony charge for attempting to remove or take a service weapon from a peace officer
